Online Business Productivity: September Link Roundup

Online Business Productivity - Monthly RoundupWelcome to the Productive Superdad’s first monthly online business productivity roundup. My goal is to publish these roundups on the second Thursday of each month.

These roundups gather some of the noteworthy posts around the web. The links are related to online business, but the angle is productivity (time saving tips, how to make things faster… ).

You can also let me know if you have any links that you’d like to see on our next monthly list. I’m more than happy to include them with the next roundup if they add value to my audience.

Anyway, here is your first roundup – check out the links and enjoy!

Generic Productivity:

Coffee starts my mornings (2 cups of black coffee, please). I also acknowledge the pros and cons of coffee and this visual presentation explains these points very clearly.

I’m an introvert and I agree to the points that Cigdem discusses in her post. The point is… know yourself so that you can align your business with your personality.

Willpower is a limited reserve and Peter shows how we can manage our limited reserves with these simple steps. Very powerful indeed!

There is a connection between eating dinner and productivity. This information can even be applied to running an online business (hint: Don’t eat your dessert first.)

Take time from low-value activities and use it with high-value ones. Make this change and see where it takes you!

Outsourcing:

So you hired a virtual assistant (VA) and now you don’t have enough work to give him/her. If this is the case, take a look at this list by Chris Ducker and understand what tasks you can actually outsource.

Repurposing Content:

You wrote a blog post, you published it and that was the end of its story? Not so! There are many ways you can take advantage of your existing content and create something new out of it.

Continuing with the content repurposing theme. This post by Jo Barnes gives you some additional ideas for creating content out of the existing one.

E-Mail Marketing:

I just wish I had that many subscribers :) Anyway, this is a practical example of procrastination and what effects it can have on your blog.

Tools:

IFTTT stands for “If This Then That” and it’s a way of automating your various Internet operations. This article specifically discusses how to take advantage of IFTTT with your Google Calendar.

There are quite a few cloud-based storage services and this post on Freelance Switch lists many of them. Hint: DropBox is not the only player in town.

Social Media:

Tools that make your social media consumption easier.

If you are on LinkedIn but you are wondering how to fit it into your daily online business routines, here’s how. It takes only 15 minutes of your daily time.

Blogging & WordPress:

No matter if it’s your house or your blog – they both need maintenance from time to time. Tim Bonner explains you the daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly tasks to take care of when it comes to your blog.

Learn these shortcuts (both Mac and PC included) and make your daily operations with WordPress more effective.

Conversion:

One aspect of productivity is how you make others more productive. The quicker and easier the user can accomplish something on your site, the better (and this has a positive effect on your conversions too).

Landing Pages

Sometimes you can create a copy for your website/landing pages without actually writing it. Neil shows you how to do it with these five tactics.

  • Timo what a sensational list of resources here! The LinkedIn authority post caught my eye; heading over that way because I have little time to spend on the network daily. FB and twitter guy here. Thanks for sharing with us!

  • Hi Timo,

I’m so sorry I’m just now getting by here. I have a whole list of blogs to visit and have been trying to play catch up for several days now.

Man, I sure appreciate all the great posts you’ve shared with us in your first round up. I love posts like this because not only do I learn a lot of new things but I get a bunch of new blogs to go and visit that I haven’t seen yet. It’s definitely a win/win situation for me for sure.

I want to also thank you for including Tim’s guest post on my blog in your round up. I mean maintaining your blog is so important and boy can things go wrong when we don’t take care of it like we should.

Thank you so much for these great posts and for including one of mine as well. That’s just so awesome.

Have a great week and I’ll look forward to your next roundup.

    ~Adrienne
